Fashion Friday: Jennifer Lopez

I was just surfing the net, and I came up on this picture of Jennifer Lopez....

google.com
This is THE one of the cutest outfits I have seen her in.  It is cute, sweet, and sexy at the same time without being vulgar.  One of the biggest trends this season is the use of gold, sequin, or metallic/copper tones in the wardrobe.  As you can see, she kept her hair and jewelry simple, because the dress itself is the major accessory!!! I want to like her clothing like a Khols Stores, but her style is so jazzy and edgy, and her line seems a bit too watered down and comercial for my taste.  It just doesn't see like anything special.  Here are a few of my favorite pics of her rocking this great trend...

Anywho, I put together this set of how to get some gold/metallic pieces without spending a fortune.  Ms. Lopez's Louboutins she is rocking probably cost more that my house note this month!!!!

Style Watch 2012--Tribal/Ethnic Prints

Tribal/Ethnic prints in fashion are really making a comeback this season.  The key to pulling of this look is not to overload it--minimal jewelry, a solid or neutral shoe, and lots of spunk and confidence.  Let the print speak for itself!!  Even if you have intricate tribal jewelry, tone down the rest of the look with maybe a solid tank, nice bangles, and a solid skinny jean.  Here are some celebrities rocking the trend.  Who is your favorite?  I think Nia Long in Alexander McQueen is mine!!!  Although WWAAAYYY out of my price range, his designs are really great in this department.

Fashion Friday: Get the Look for Less

Quick post for today...Whatever  you think of Kim Kardashian, you must admit, the girl has a fierce sense of style.  She is usually so "done up" with smokey eyes and lots of make-up.  Here is one of her easy low-key looks, and it is right on trend for Spring and looks comfortable for the upcoming Summer season.  A colorful Maxi skirt, a statement necklace that shows a pop of color, nude wedge-heel shoes that elongate the leg (she is very short, flesh-tone shoes will make you look taller because it gives the illusion of mile-long legs)...all complete the look.  Below the picture is a collage I put together that will give you this same look, and all pieces are under $50!!!  Check it out...

Trends for 2012--Maxi Dresses

I love Maxi Dresses.  Maxi dresses are really on trend right now.  They are chic and comfortable.  I own many myself.  You can dress them down with cute sandals or flip flops, or can dress them up with cute accessories and heels.  They are really forgiving as far as fit is concerned.  Here are a few that I found while surfing the net today.

Atlanta Housewives' Fashion Recap

I absolutely love my Atlanta housewives.  My favorites are NeNe, Phaedra, and Cynthia.  On last night's show, Cynthia and her hubby Peter threw themselves a one year anniversary party.  I think the party was a little over the top for a first anniversary, but I guess they are just really happy they've made it this far.  I do appreciate that they don't run around acting like married life is not challenging.  They seem pretty real to me. Anywho,  here are my opinions of the fashions worn to the party...

Ne Ne looked like a million bucks in this Roberto Cavali dress.  I love her style!!!

Cynthia's dress was pretty too, but that hair took away from the intricate detail of the dress.  A simple sideswept bun would have been enough with this dress.  Mal's dress was beautiful, but she was too busy hating for any of us to notice.

What does Marlo have on?  She can do better than this.  Her style is so jazzy and modern, this seems like she is trying to portray something else.  Please change.  And where is Charles Grant?

Now don't get me wrong, I really like Candi's dress.  But this was inappropriate for an anniversary party.  Everyone else that I saw had on long gowns, and she looks like she is going to the club.

Sheree's dress is pretty as well, but I couldn't find a good shot of it.  She was too busy starting drama with Marlo and her hairdresser.  Seems as though Sheree loves to start mess.  I think Bravo is paying her to be two-faced.

What do you think?
